Our calf disbudding services take the pressure off farmers. Calves are sedated and a local anaesthetic is applied around the horn bud, then horns are burned and flicked out so they will not grow back. This is also a great time to look for extra teats (and remove them) and tend to any navel infections. Some farmers use this time to tag their calves, DNA test and vaccinate too. We also offer pain relief injections for calves. When sedated for disbudding our team will also check for extra teats and navel infections. BVD/DNA testing and clostridial vaccinations are optional extras.
We offer a wide variety of vaccinations to keep your herd healthy. Your Animal Health Plan will schedule vaccinations at the right time so you can fit it all into your busy schedule.
The right drench at the right time will prevent many animal health incidents. Make use of our on-farm delivery to free up time on farm.
Faecal egg counts are a great way to monitor worm counts in your young stock.
For those sick calves or for mobs with reduced growth rates, we have capable vets to make a diagnosis and provide a treatment plan. We use our lab for in-house cultures, microscopy to diagnose parasitism, or coccidiosis and an external lab for a quick turnaround to get those calves back on track.
We have a number of programs to synchronise your heifers. Producing an earlier mean calving date allowing heifers more days to get back in calf. You will also increase the speed of genetic gain by producing AB calves and have more days in milk. Benefits include earlier calving heifers, more days in milk and replacements from your most genetically superior stock.
Reduce heifer mastitis, improve welfare and maximise efficiency over calving by teatsealing your heifers. Our experienced team makes a difficult job seem easy from set-up to administration and clean-up.
