Phil – Vet
Phil graduated from Massey in the last millennium and has been practising in South and Mid-Canterbury for the last 13 years. In between he has worked in the Rangitikei and locumed throughout the U.K. While working to contain the FMD outbreak in Yorkshire he met his wife Robyn and a foot and mouth romance began.
In his spare time he likes to try and hit a stationary white ball, chases sheep and cattle around their farm and tries to keep up with three fast moving children and their sporting endeavours!
Robyn – Vet
Robyn is a compassionate veterinarian of 16 years experience and enjoys the busyness of a diverse mixed practice. Robyn has a keen interest in small animal orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery and critical care cases.
Outside work hours, Robyn can be seen supporting 3 energetic children on the sports field, tramping in the beautiful outdoors or digging in her garden. Robyn is actively involved in the farming business that her and her husband own and is happy to be on the quad with their beautiful huntaway.
Amy – Vet
Amy qualified in the UK in 2012 and spent her first four years as a farm vet in the South West. She has been working in New Zealand for the past 18 months and spent the last calving season in the Ashburton area before joining the Gateway team. In her spare time she enjoys tramping and can often be found exploring somewhere in the Southern Alps.
Carla – Vet
Carla grew up in rural Victoria. Grew up in rural Victoria, Australia, before spending 6 years studying in sunny Perth on the west coast. She graduated from Murdoch University in 2016. Hoping to work in dairy/mixed practice she has flown across the ditch to join the team here at Gateway Vets.
Outside of work Carla likes tramping, cake and volleyball.

Thurza – Vet
Thurza grew up in Ashburton and graduated at Massey University in 2015. She started working at Gateway after visiting as a student in her final year. Thurza enjoyed dairy farming as a gap year after school which further fuelled her interest in working with animals and the farming community.
She really loves her music, getting outdoors and playing Netball with the Geraldine club.
Lynette – Support Team
Lynette worked in the same Ashburton vet clinic as Phil about 10 years ago (back when they both looked that bit younger and fresher!) Since then she spent 7 years working as Office Manager for a small rural school at Carew before taking up the role of Clinic Manager at Gateway Vets.
Lynette is also a published writer of three children’s books and is currently working on a movie script (or procrastinating about working on it). In actuality, she spends most of her spare time out tramping in the hills.

Megan – Support Team
Megan grew up on a farm in the Geraldine area and, after moving away to study and doing the obligatory Kiwi OE, she moved back around 3 years ago.
After working with Phil and Robyn at a vet clinic while at school, she graduated as a registered nurse and has been nursing for the past 6 years.
She has always had a passion for animals and she jumped at the chance of a career change, bringing some of her human nursing skills and rural background to her new role at Gateway Vets Ltd.
Sue – Support Team
Sue joined our team on a part time basis to help Lynette, and to deal with the accounts and payroll. Sue loves horses, has a dressage horse that she competes on and a young filly to bring on, plus 2 naughty dogs, all of which keeps her pretty busy when she is not at the clinic.
